Get to know: LAUREL IZZI

With over 20 years of experience in both competitive and recreational dance, Laurel believes in providing a dance space that promotes positive reinforcement, encouragement and a fun and fulfilling environment. 

With years of experience in the studio, Laurel has recently been working as a paraprofessional. This a job that allows her to focus on individuals who have developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges. Because  Laurel truly believes that, "dance can make everything better," she is excited to work in our "Dance With Us" program.  

Trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical / Contemporary, Acro and Hip Hop Laurel has helped to form dancers into Award Winning Competitors and National High Score Winners.

Laurel is CPR certified.

Drexel University Class of 2025

• Bachelor's Degree in Dance
• Minor In Psychology
• A 4 year member of both Drexel Dance Ensemble and Drexel Touring Ensemble 

Along with some great performance opportunities, Quincy has also taken class from and trained with some of the best in the industry. 

Here are some great examples:

• Student at Trinity Laban through a Study Abroad Program
• Classes and Choreography with teachers such as Omar Román De Jesús, Tommie-Waheed Evans, Britt Fishel, Camille Moten, Xiang Xu, Al Blackstone, Derek Mitchell, David Dorfman, and Emily Brown
• Camps and Conventions such as the Broadway Dance Center Intensives Series, GENIV,  TapCity, The Dance Awards, Jump, Nuvo and NYCDA

Quincy's most recent Internship was with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company in New York City. As an Operations Assistant , Quincy was given a hands on opportunity to  take care of the administrative side of a dance company.

Adelphi University Class of 2025

Sarah has worked with some very inspiring choreographers and companies, here are some of her credentials:

• A dancer at the London Contemporary Dance School
• Has taken class and trained under Maggie Joy, Omar Román de Jesús, Isaac Lerner, Takehiro Ueyema, and Marie Zvosec
• Intensive programs and camps such as  Whim W’Him Seattle Contemporary Dance, the Gibney Summer Study, and Doug Varone and Dancers, NYCDA and Jump.

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing at St. John’s University, with an expected graduation in 2026. 

A member of the St. John’s University Dance Team in Queens, New York, Lexxy has done things like:

• Performing at Madison Square Garden, entertaining crowds of up to 20,000 during halftime and media timeouts.

In addition, Lexxy has broadened her training through various classes and Summer Intensives.Training in both collegiate-level competition and the UDA organization, Lexxy has:

• attended UDA College Camp, 3 years running.
• Competes annually in the UDA College Nationals, where St. John’s University participates in the Division 1 categories of Hip Hop, Jazz, and Game Day.
• Worked With: Al Blackstone, Teressa Stone, Emily Greenwell, and Josh Assor. 
• Attended bothJump and NYCDA

Gettysburg College Class of 2026

A previous student of The Petrov Ballet and The New Jersey Ballet, Lily is excited to share her knowledge of Ballet and other style of dance with young dancers. 

Lily  has worked with some very inspiring choreographers and companies, here are some of her credentials:

• Leaned under the direction of retired New York City Ballet Principal, Maria Kowroski. 
• Has taken class, trained and performed in the Junior Ballet Company of the New Jersey School of Ballet.

Growing up a dancer, Sabrina has had the opportunity to attend numerous dance workshops and learn from artists such as:

• Janelle Ginestra
• Lane Napper
• and Rosero McCoy

As a competitive varsity and collegiate cheerleader, she has won overall first place solo awards in the dance categories. She has experience as a master class instructor and enjoys pushing her students with creative choreography. 

Sabrina is currently a medical Speech-Language Pathologist working in pediatrics and continues to expand her dance knowledge by taking classes.

Montclair State University Class of 2025

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology
• Michelle is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University 
• Member of the Montclair State University Dance Team for two years
• Attended NDA College Nationals 24/25 and won Two National Titles.

Along with some great convention demonstration opportunities, Michelle has also taken class from and trained with the amazing Miles Keeney, Kelly Sweeney, Brain Freedman and Tricia Miranda. 

Michelle is fluent in all styles of dance and has a 12 year history as a competitive dancer. She is excited to share her knowledge with the next generation of dancers.

Pursuing a Dance Major At: Passaic County Tech. Vocational

High School Class of 2026

Edina will be a Jr. Teacher here at The Dance Spot. A position that allows her to share her passion for dance and choreography while still learning and challenging herself in her own dance career and education. 

At school Edina focuses on dance fundamentals, dance history, composition and choreography. 

At only 17 Edina displays the qualities of a wonderful mentor and dance educator. 

Growing up a competitive dancer, Edina has also attended prestigious conventions and competitions where she studies under some of the best instructors in the industry.
